About Us

Jerusalem is unique. Yet, when it comes to accommodations and hospitality one could just as easily be in Atlanta, Buenos Aires, Milan or Johannesburg. In other words ‘predictable’.

Until now.

The Templer Inn is among the rare architectural gems that define Jerusalem’s historic and picturesque German Colony – and the only one that offers hospitality to sophisticated travelers.

Christian Jakob Messerle was a member of the original Templer community that pioneered the German Colony in the 1890s. He built his gracious stone residence with its large windows, stone floors and green shutters to house his large family.Aliza Yuval 1962

This stately mansion with its expansive walled garden has been owned by the family of Alon Beham Eran for three generations (his father and grandmother are pictured to the right, in 1962).

Alon has devoted several years to restoring and upgrading this historic home to accommodate visitors seeking a unique Jerusalem experience.

Each of the four suites retains both the grandeur and details that define Templer architecture; combining both European and distinctly Jerusalem elements. These include high cambered and arched ceilings, thick walls, tall windows and stone floors.

The upper level is comprised of two suites that flank a small lobby and kitchen from which gourmet Israeli breakfasts are served every morning in the individual suites or, weather permitting, in the garden. The lower level is comprised of two suites as well, each with its own entrance.

All four suites feature separate bedrooms and living rooms with fully equipped kitchenettes including refrigerator, microwave, hotplate and espresso machine. Satellite TV and WiFi are standard. The luxurious en-suite bathrooms offer abundant towels, bathrobes, slippers, and quality bath gels and shampoos for each guest. The living room sofas can be made up as beds for families with children.

The walled garden is a common area for the exclusive enjoyment of Templer Inn guests. The breakfasts are prepared in accordance with all dietary laws.
